COMMISSION REVIVES NUTMEG STATE GAMES TORCH RUN
The Fairfield County Sports Commission helped to revive the Nutmeg State Games torch relay run in 2006. With the Games being hosted in Bridgeport, the first time they were staged in Fairfield County, the Commission coordinated securing the runners for the event, the route of the relay and other aspects of the run. The relay continued in 2007 and 2008.

Northeast Regional Clinic
The Sports Commission hosted the NSCA clinics, which bring together experts in conditioning, nutrition, and strength training to present the most recent information on all those topics to athletic trainers, youth coaches and educators.
